From the Islander newspaper , May 22 , 2013 : Jim Sprankle , chair of the " Ding " Darling Preservation Campaign committee , recently accepted a check from Committee of the Islands ( COTI ) officers Mike Gillespie , vice president , and Barbara Joy Cooley , president , to support efforts to purchase the Woodring Education Center . Earlier , island non ? profit support came from Point property and improve the refuge the Zonta Club of Sanibel ? Captiva , which included the Woodring estate in its popular Peek at the Unique homes tour . That tour resulted in a $ 200,000 challenge donation .
